Reiki, Massage Therapy, Aromatics?

When God was a little boy and Mother Connie was learning to perform massage, society frowned on the profession of massage therapy. It was thought to be naughty and those who discussed the benefits-there are a great many benefits-were thought to be naughty, as well.

Not one to worry much about other peoples' opinions, I pursued my studies and went on to layer the sessions with each newly learned modality. I became so enlightened about so many different techniques that it took me half a day to do a one hour session!

As you are well aware, my favorite modality has beome the Do It Yourself program of The Healing Codes because it is so simple. No appointment necessary, you can even do long distance healing for family or friends who live afar but need assistance with their issues. A big plus is that there are no rules about who may or may not avail themselves of this gift.

I've been oober delighted to watch my Firstborn learn about Reiki and aromatherapy. These are effective modalities and she has been drawn to learn about them. This affirms to me that she is following her passions. A gifted, creative young woman, she is wise about listening to her heart and traveling her own path.

Reiki, like The Healing Codes is a fast growing wellness practice. It was developed in Japan, where natural healing is highly respected. Reiki helps to bring balance and harmony for body, mind and spirit. It can be used in conjunction with any other type of healing; hence, it has integrated well into various Western medical facilities for its efficacy.

Aromatherapy offers an holistic approach to enhance life and wellness. The Egyptians used aromatherapy extensively. It is a delightful adjunct to anyone's wellness program and I highly endorse the use of essential oils for every reason it may be called for. Whether you are keen on weight management or need a good night's rest, essential oils and their winsome aromas will be a healthy way to achieve your goals.

We are surrounded by an embarrassment of riches when it comes to choosing how best to care for our bodies. How delightful that my very own family believes in traveling this path as much as I do!

Has Spring Sprung?

"Spring has sprung. The grass has riz. Where last year's careless driver is."--Burma Shave Sign

Who doesn't love Spring? The birds certainly seem to be enjoying the season in our neck of the woods. The Cranes are putting on quite a show on the North Platte River. The Canadian Snow Geese have left southeast NE to join their feathered friends along the corridor at the Platte River, too. The Bluejays and Cardinals can be heard screeching and singing and praising the season to the blue skies! I was keenly aware of their presence, along with the red Robins, as I tended the laundry at the clothesline today. The fresh air was delish! I'm sure the birds think so, too!

We are feathering a new nest so we're just learning how pretty it is to see how the light falls at various times of day. We are getting acquainted with the new floor plan and where the light swiches are placed. We are deciding from meal to meal whether we wish to take our food in the kitchen or the dining room-so many choices and delights; so little time!

Were we not in the pink of health, enjoying the local wildlife, having coffee here or there, arranging wall art and furniture would not be the joy it is. We are so grateful that we have learned about good clean water, minerals, organic and whole foods, the critical need for adequate rest and exercise. How blessed we are to understand the value of color, of alternative medicine, Far InfraRed products, and massage therapy! We count ourselves fortunate not to use antibiotics, microwave ovens and junk food. Our hearts are bursting with joy and gratitude; our bodies are healthy, strong and vibrant.

Thank goodness we have come to understand the importance of living our truth in love and forgiveness, acceptance and gratitude.

We are much like those birds who frequent our yard. We know our needs will be met.

How's Your Energy?

"All matter is energy." --Albert Einstein, Theoretical Physicist

"The energy field starts it all." --Professor Harold Burr, PhD, Yale U.

Having done energy work with my massage therapy work for more years than I care to admit, I clearly understand the worth of harnessing good energy to turn on the body mechanisms that are Divinely Designed to promote healing.

When I discovered The Healing Codes , the information resonated with every cell in my being. I intuitively recognized the power that lay within.

The idea behind the codes is to 'jump start' your body's own healing mechanism. The pituitary glad, the hypothalamus, the hippocampus, and the thyroid work in symphony to serve as the control center with your own healing energy helping your body to heal itself.

My massage training indicated that the body will heal itself, if given the proper environment. That environment can include, but is not limited to proper whole, organic food and pure water, appropriate supplementation, far infrared fabrics, massage therapy, lymph drainage, adequate sleep, and moderate exercise. To be avoided: stress, toxic fumes, processed or microwaved foods, and simple carbohydrates.

My education in body work was blessed by instructors who could help their clients long distance. They often got calls from clients and students about how to help people feel better. I was aware, even as a student, that healing was about the energy of love, prayer, and caring.

The Healing Codes are all about those elements. They have received accolades from those who have benefitted by learning the Codes, by scientific minds who, intitially, were certain these codes would not work. There are reports from clients where self healing took place, even though they had been regarded as "incurable" and mainstream diagnostic tests have concluded that the Codes do consistently reduce stress from the body.

As with anything in life, there are no guarantees. But without the energy and The Healing Codes, what help would we have?

If you are content with the status of your health and you have all the energy it takes to live your life the way you are happiest, you are indeed blessed. If not, then, please take a long and serious look at The Healing Codes.

Will YOU Choose Flexibilty?

Or, do you prefer rigidity?

This very topic came to light as I lay on Deidre’s massage table. I had decided to reward myself for jobs well done and my therapist was doing the most delicious things to my neck.

As the fragrant oils were worked into the knots under my skin I asked her if she finds that many people carry stress in their necks. Of course, I believe we all carry stress in our necks! We also haul stress around in our backs, and the muscles of our legs, arms, and foreheads! Any of these is reason enough to schedule an appointment with our favorite body worker.

But, to me, this is the interesting observation my therapist made: In her experience, people who do not manage their stress and go through life holding rigid opinions, inflexible behaviors and dull, unimaginative ideas are often the very same people who struggle with such health issues as arthritis, brittle bones and thinning hair.

Whether or not there is scientific evidence to prove her point, Deidre did not say. She was very busy coaxing the stress out of my musculature and my mind drifted as she worked her magic.

I thought about the times I had heard a foreign notion or had read a new concept. Had my neck tightened as resistance to the newness of what I was taking in? Do my behaviors keep my body from maximizing my muscles’ abilities? I really owe it to myself to sign up for that Yoga class I saw advertised. Maybe I should see about a membership at the YWCA…

Whatever I decide, it will be critical for me to reschedule another appointment with Deidre. That is one activity where I give myself permission to show INflexibility!
